Scenario Mission

You are a pilgrim and you and your fellow pilgrims have just finished cooking a great harvest. After inviting the Indians to the harvest you all enjoy a great feast. After the feast you walk into the woods and POOF! Suddenly you are standing in front of a classroom full of children wanting to know what Thanksgiving is. A little confused you prepare to tell them about Thanksgiving. What would you say?

For this speech you are giving, you need to tell your teacher what you would say so she can write it down. You need to tell your teacher about the pilgrims and Indians. You will need to tell who they are, what type of clothes they wore and what type of food they ate at their Thanksgiving feast. As you are doing this your classmates will be coloring pictures of pilgrims, Indians, turkeys and cornocopias.

You will then share your speech with your class using your classmates pictures.

The topicquest page has many links you may want to go to for your information. The Plymouth Plantation:pilgrims, Plymouth Plantation:Indians and Ask Earl links tell all about the clothing both the pilgrims and the Indians wore, what they ate at their Thanksgiving feast and much more  about Thanksgiving.

Mission Steps

1. Explore with your teacher Plymouth Plantation:pilgrims, Plymouth Plantation:Indians and Ask Earl to find the information to write your speech.

2. Write or describe to your teacher the information about the pilgrims and indians: Who they are, what type of clothes they wore and what type of food they ate at their Thanksgiving feast.

3. While you are searching the sites for information about the pilgrims and Indians to share with your class, your classmates will be coloring pictures of pilgrims, Indians, turkeys and cornocopias to be used during your presentation.

4. Give your written speech and a few of your classmates drawings to your teacher to scan and publish on the Internet.
