Welcome students, parents, and colleagues! My name is Rachel Stracener and I am an Early Childhood Education major at Valdosta State University. I look forward to teaching because I love to see that I can make a difference in a young life. As the oldest of four children, I have always enjoyed "teaching" my younger siblings. I am a former military brat ( USAF) and have lived all over the country from Florida to Washington. My college career started at Florida State University. I settled in Valdosta after marrying my middle school boyfriend and transferred to Valdosta State University to continue my education. My husband and I have a beautiful little girl who is the light of our lives. Family is extremely important to me. My family is scattered from Florida to Pennsylvania, and my husband, daughter, and I enjoy traveling to visit them.
Due to our travels to Pennsylvania to visit family, we are able to enjoy all the benefits of a white winter. I love to snowtube and be outdoors in the cold weather and snow. Winter is my favorite season, and I hope to encourage my students to enjoy and be active in every season.
This webpage was created in the hopes of encouraging my students, and their parents, to incorporate technology into their learning. There are many useful resources online that can supplement a student's education or assist them in grasping concepts not yet mastered. Educators can also use technology to make learning fun through online educational games and activities.
