RESEARCH INTEREST

SCIENCE

One area focuses on the design and synthesis of novel porous materials (bulk material, layered films, and porous thin films) and the basic understanding of the structure, properties, functions and applications of the materials.

The target functions/potential use of the novel materials will be in the following areas: drug delivery, energy storage, battery technology and environmental Remediation

Secondly we are interested in the fundamental understanding of the nano-scale chemistry involved in using self assembled monolayer SAM as a building block or “template” for the growth of the inorganic or organic based coating on films. These types of coatings have potential application in the area of medical implants, battery technology just to mention a few.
