Oliver's Ocean of Knowledge

Hello
everyone! My name is Sherry Oliver and my home town is Macon, Georgia. Macon is
in the heart of central Georgia.
After many years of being mom and a business owner, I finally finished
my bachelors of science at Macon
State College and majored in Public
Service Administration/Human Services. During the 2007-2008
school year, I volunteered as a high school cheerleading coach
and was a substitute teacher. I fearfully accepted a long
term position in an MOID class this past year and fell in love.
For the rest of the year, I begged to substitute in the special
education department. I am now pursuing my Masters of Art in
Teaching from Valdosta State in Special Education. I am very excited to
become a fully certified teacher.

The world of education and its
students are much like the ocean and ocean life. We can
look at the ocean as a big arena full of knowledge and much left to be
explored. We can learn from the different life forms in the sea
just as we can learn from the different students in the educational
world. Education and the ocean can teach us all many
things! Ocean life colors and differences are radiant just as
students are! Let's explore the different life forms
together. Look at the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
As if it weren't evident. I love the beach and water! I
have been married for over twenty years and have two daughters, Callie
(18),Casey (17), and Jayce (9). Callie will be attending Georgia Southern next
year and will be cheering on their All Girls Cheerleading squad.
Casey will be a senior at Rutland High School
where she plays softball and Jayce will be in the fourth grade at Heard
Elementary.
He's active in little league football and everything thing adventerous.
I am very excited to teach in the Bibb County School system next year.
