me

Hello and welcome to My page!! My name is Sarah Tucker and I am from Tifton, Georgia.  I was a 2005 Honor Graduate from Tift County High School, home of the Blue Devils.  I recieved my Associates of Science Degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Summer 2007.  Currently, I am a junior at Valdosta State University majoring in Early Childhood Education Early Childhood and Special Education Department.  I plan to grauate with my Bachelor's Degree in December 2008.  I plan to stay at VSU to obtain my Masters Degree.  My goal is to one day be a successful kindergarten teacher and be a role model for many of my future students to come.  I have always had a passion for teaching since I was a little girl.  Being an educators daughter, I have always respected teachers and what they do as a career.  I can not wait to have a classroom full of students of my own and teach them everyday!

I have the best family any girl could ask for!  My mother is a retired school teacher; she taught History at Tift County High School for 31 years.   My father also works for the Tift County Board of Education, he is the Transportation Director for the Tift County Schools System.  I also have two older brothers (who are very protective of their little sister) and one sister-in-law who are all GREAT!!  I am the baby of the family and I enjoy every second of it!

During my spare time I enjoy hanging out with all my friends.  I have a boyfriend, Brandon, who is my best friend.  We enjoy playing golf, hunting, fishing, going to the beach, watching UGA football, and going to Braves games.  My favorite thing to do is travel; I have been to many points of interst across the United States, mainly the Western part of the country.  My favorite place to visit is Las Vegas, Nevada.  I go there once a year with my family and have the best time! My grandparents started going there in the 1970s and ever since I was in the fifth grade my parents started taking my brothers and I.  We take a trip out there each summer with about 20 other people in my family.  It is a tradition that I will participate in as long as I am able to.

Two websites that I have found useful for teachers are Georgia Standards and A to Z Teacher Stuff.  Georgia Standards is a website that is becoming familiar to most people who are either in college preparing for being an educator and those who are already educators as well.  This website has lesson plans for grades K-12 and gives great ideas for beginning teachers as well as veteran teachers.  A to Z Teacher Stuff is a website created to find resources such as lesson plans, worksheets, and other teacher materials as well.
