This is Union County
Middle School,
home of the Panthers and located in the small town of Blairsville, GA. This
school system consists of six schools, five of which are all centrally
located on the same campus in downtown Blairsville. The city itself is
small in layout, but is very vast in the amount of heritage and
Appalachian culture that reside here. Union County itself is made
up of only Blairsville and the unincorporated community of Suches,
which lies on the county line with neighboring Fannin County.

Hello, my name is Stephanie Flood and I am in the Special
Education
Graduate Program at Valdosta State University. I am currently working
in Physical Education and planning to spend my career-life being a
teacher. Aside from my career interests I love spending time outdoors
playing with my daughter. Living in a small country town has changed us
from “city girls” to “country girls” because we love to be around horses
and farm animals.
In the future we plan to have our own farm and two of each kind of
animal we desire.
My classes include students from grades 6th, 7th, and 8th and in
my
classes we teach Physical Education and Health. On the Physical Education
side we have
three classes per week, two of which we spend playing organized sports
or doing some kind of physical activity and one class where we spend
running and doing cardiovascular exercises. For Health, we have
two classes per week and spend time lecturing, reading, taking notes
and playing games to teach the students the importance of being in good
health for the entirety of their lives.
