winking fishHello! My name is Susan Kennedy, and I am a junior at Valdosta State University.  I am currently seeking my Masters degree in Early Childhood and Bachelor's degree in Special Education.  I plan to complete my studies in the Spring of 2006 and will become a 1st to 3rd grade teacher in the Fall of 2006.  My goal is to flourish the minds of young children of all needs by sharing my love and knowledge for all children!

starfishI was born in Clemmons, NC and was raised there until I was 12 years old.  When I was 12 years old my family and I moved to the "Big Peach" (Roswell, GA).  I absolutely fell in love with Atlanta when we moved!  My family is very close which made the move on everyone even easier.  I have two brothers.  My oldest brother's name is John and he is a sophomore at Georgia State University.  My youngest brother's name is Paul Jr. and he is a senior at Roswell High School.  My mom and dad mean the world to me and I consider them as my best friends!  The most difficult part of living in
Lowndes County is having my family live 4 hours away in Fulton County!  Some of my greatest past times that I have experienced with my family are taking vacations to tropical places.  When I was 10 years old, my family and I visited Hawaii for two weeks.  At 14 my family and I began to take vacations all through Florida: such as Disney World, Pensacola, Daytona, Destin and many more. Finally, my favorite vacation was taking a cruise with my family in the Bahamas during the week of Christmas 2001!  I look forward to taking vacations in the eastern hemisphere when I have my own family!

pink clamThroughout my life I have been very dedicated to sports!  The one sport that I fell in love with was swimming!  Swimming has been my life ever since I was 8 years old.  I have competed and have won many awards and medals in swimming clubs/teams since I was 8.  I have competed on WSY, Dynamo Swim Club, Swim Atlanta, and the Roswell High School Swim Team. When I came to college my competitive edge in swimming winded down and I began to focus more on school work and my future of becoming a teacher.  Although, to this day, I am still completely in love with the water and swimming!  In my spare time I swim for relaxation and the pure love of the sport.  When I am not at school or swimming I am volunteering at the Lowndes County Animal Shelter.  I enjoy volunteering here because dogs are a huge passion of mine.  My two loves are my German Shepherd, Naja, and my Shepherd/Lab mix, Hansel.  With swimming, school, volunteering and my two shepherds I stay very busy and happy!
