Making a Mark on Education

My name is Stephanie Dyson and I am currently a junior at Valdosta State University. I plan to graduate with a major in Early Childhood Education. I am 21 years old and have been certain that I should become some sort of teacher since I was a child, and I cannot wait to finish school and get started teaching!
While I am comfortable with my career choice, in the past my major was Physical Education. Throughout my life I have always been interested in sports and physical activity. Another interest of mine is family. I believe that my close relationship with family members has molded me into the person I am today. I hope to make a difference in someone's life just as my family has made a difference in mine.
As a future teacher, I have found a few sites that I believe could be useful for teachers and parents. One such website is New Teacher Survival Central. This website offers tips for future teachers, teachers, and even parents. Another good website is Afterschool Alliance. This is a very informational website containing ideas to use in order to keep children busy and away from trouble afterschool.
