Puppies for Sale
by Dan Clark

The book Puppies for Sale is about a young boy who passes by a pet shop and sees that the store owner has puppies for sale.  The owner told the boy that he was selling the puppies for fifty dollars each.  The boy did not have that much money, but he still wanted a puppy.

One of the puppies was limping and the little boy told the owner that was the puppy that he wanted to buy.  The store owner said he would just give that puppy to him at no charge.

The boy got mad and told the owner that the puppy was just as valuable as the others.  The store owner replied, "No, No, No.  You don't want that dog.  He's never going to be able to run and jump and play like the other dogs."

Then the little boy pulled up his pant leg to reveal an injured right leg, supported by two braces.  The boy replied, "I don't run so well myself and the puppy will need someone who understands."
