Livingston Elementary School was established in 1884.  Use subtraction to figure out how old your school is! (2010 - 1884 = ?) Did you figure that your school is 126 years old?  Wow! That means that Livingston has been dedicated to fostering a community of students, families, and teachers focused on learning for over a decade!  Livingston Elementary School is located in Covington, Georgia. Livingston is located in Newton County. Our average enrollment is about 600 students, Pre-K through Fifth grade.  Please visit Livingston's website for more information.

Meet Mrs. Jacobs

I have lived in Georgia for almost nine years now.  My husband and I are both from South Carolina.  We moved to Covington not long after getting married.  Mr. Jacobs is a minister of a lovely church here.  We have two little girls.  Many of you might know Grace; she will be in second grade this year.  Sarah is my baby.  She just celebrated her first birthday.  Those are my girls in the picture with me.  I have many interests.  I love to exercise.  I have run many half-marathons.  I also enjoy the beach.  I grew up going to Myrtle Beach, SC, but have visited many beaches in Florida as well.  This summer, Mr. Jacobs and I are going to Mexico.  Look for pictures of the beautiful beach there later here on the webpage.  My main hobby though is spending time with my family.  We love riding bikes, taking walks together, playing games, watching movies, and just sitting on the front porch.  What are your hobbies?

to our class!
I am a resource teacher for grades 3-5.  I teach reading, english/language arts, and math in the co-teaching and resource settings.  See the link for classroom news for my teaching schedule.  This year, I will be doing a lot of strategy instruction in my resource settings.  Parents, ask your child about sentence writing strategies and ALEKS.  We are hoping to get more strategy instruction for the 2010/2011 school year.  I look forward to posting information about these soon.  See below for links to further important information for our class.

Each week there will be a "word of the week." I will not define the word here.  Instead, I will give you clues to figuring out the meaning of the word.  If you are able to use the word appropriately in a conversation with me, or if you are able to let me know what the word means, you will receive a small prize.
Look for your first word the first week of school, August 9.

WORD PROBLEM OF THE WEEK
