Hi. My name is Latasha Thomas. I am from Thomasville, GA. and I graduated from Thomasville High School in 2001. I am a senior at Valdosta State University majoring in Early Childhood Education. I  anticipate graduating December 2010. In May of 2007, I received my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Prince George's Community College located in Largo, MD. I enjoy working with children and would like to someday teach third grade. I believe that teaching  is another way to love a child. I would also like to one day open a child day care center and name it Ms. Anna's House of Care after my grandmother. My grandmother has always been my inspiration for life.

When not in school, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family. I enjoy reading fiction novels because they allow me to get lost in someone's life. I enjoy the drama and excitement of not knowing. I get really excited and find it hard to put good books down. To keep up with the latest novels I often visit
goodread. I also visit blackexpressions to keep up with all of the African-American authors that I enjoy reading. Right now my favorite movies include anything written and produced by Tyler Perry.  His movies are not only funny, but they also inspire and give courage to those who no longer believe.

As a future educator, I am learning that there are many web resources available for teachers, parents, and students. As a teacher, I will write many lesson plans. To assist with this task I will visit the website entitled lessonplanz. This website offers tons of lesson plans and activities for every subject. Many ideas for the classroom can be seen on this website. If a lesson is not exactly what you need you can modify it to fit your lesson. Another great website includes information about the Georgia Performance Standards.  This site is great for teachers and parents. It offers resources for parents and teachers and has the standards for all grades K-12.
