Where the Wild
Things
Are
Auhtor: Maurice Sendak
Picture and Story by Laura Windham
In the book, Where the Wild Things Are, Max is at home stirring
up mischief of all kinds. He gets into trouble with his mother,
and she sends him to bed without dinner.
In his bedroom a forest grows and grows, and Max sails on his boat to a
far away place through days, weeks, and a year to where the wild things
are. He lands and the wild things show their terrible teeth and
claws, but he tames the wild things with a magic trick.
Max becomes king of the wild things, and they have a party. After
the party, he sends the wild things to bed without dinner. Then
Max becomes lonely.
