Welcome to my web page. My name is Linsey Barth and I am twenty-one
years old. I am from the small town of Alma, Georgia. I
moved to Alma when I was twelve years old from London, Ohio.
Before Ohio, I lived in a little mountain town in Tennessee. My family
had the opportunity to live in different places because my Daddy is a
preacher. I started college at South Georgia College, where I
earned my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I am now a
Junior at Valdosta State University in the Early Childhood and Special
and my major is Early Childhood and Reading Education. My plan is
to graduate in December of 2009.
I am extremely
excited about becoming a teacher! I love children, and want to make a
difference in their lives. I think my love for children comes
from my big family. As you can see in the picture above, I have tons of
little cousins, and I love all of them so much! I also think my desire
to teach comes from my Mama. My Mama wasn't a school teacher, but
for years she taught the children at the churches my Daddy preached at.
She was so wonderful with those kids! She had such a love for every
child who came into her class. She cared about them more than anyone
else. I always thought that my Mama would have made a wonderful
This past February my Mama passed away. Needless to say the
past few months haven't been easy for my family and I. I
just hope that when I am in the classroom, I have that same love for
every child who comes into my classroom that my Mama did. She is
definitely my inspiration, and my role model as a teacher.
When I'm not at school, I love to spend time with my family and
friends. I also love to shop and go to the beach or lay out by my pool.
I was lucky enough this summer to go on two different beach trips. My
family and I stayed at the Ginn
Hammock Beach Resort
for a week in June. It was the nicest place I have ever stayed! I
even went to the resort spa and got a facial. The picture above is one
that I took from the balcony of my room. For me, there is nothing more
relaxing than laying out on the beach with a good book. I also got the
opportunity this summer to go to Six Flags. I
love roller coasters, but I haven't been there in four or five years. I
went with my cousin and friends, we had a blast! The park has so many
exciting rides, including a new ride called the Goliath which was my
