Topic Mini-Research Real World Activity
Pretend that today you are the teacher of a Pre-Kindergarten class.  You are going to teach the class about the letter A.  If you need any help with the letter A, click here.  You will help the students make a Letter A Book.  In the book the students will write a word that begins with the letter A and draw a picture of the word.

Steps to Complete Real World Activity
  1. First visit the websites above and make sure that you know all about the letter A.  Learn how to make the short "A" sound and the long "A" sound on the Starfall website.
  2. Make sure you have all the materials for the letter A book.  You will need:  crayons, scissors and construction paper.
  3. Take the construction paper and fold it over from top to bottom.  Next, fold the paper from left to right which forms a mini booklet.
  4. On the front of the book label it "My Letter A Book."  Inside each page write a word that begins with the letter A and draw a picture of it.
  5. When your booklet is finished, you may show it to the class.
