A Bad Case of Stripes is a book about a
girl named Camilla Cream who loved lima beans, but
never ate
them. This was because all of her friends hated lima beans, and
she wanted to fit
in.
While getting dressed for the first day of school, Camilla
looked in the mirror to find herself
covered with stripes from head to toe. She
looked like a colored rainbow.
When Camilla went to school, all
of the
other kids laughed at her. Camilla
tried to ignore
them, but when someone said a
word, she turned
into whatever they said.
Soon everyone was
calling out different shapes and colors, and poor
Camilla was changing as fast as
lightening.
Camilla saw every
doctor in the world, but no one
had a cure for the stripes. Camilla's stripes
were becoming worse and
worse. Finally, an old lady
came to Camilla's house to help
her.
The lady gave Camilla a handful of lima beans to eat.
Camilla ate all of the lima beans that
the old lady gave her, and she
was finally cured. From then
on, Camilla ate all the
lima beans
she wanted, and never
got the stripes again!
