Welcome to Mrs. Wilson's Second Grade Class. Before we get started with a new school-year, let me tell you a little about myself. I am originally from New York City, but I currently reside in East Point, Georgia. I graduated from Penn State University in 2006 with a BA in English. When I am not at school or work I enjoy spending time with my husband, Javel and two puppies, Dash and Violet.

My hobbies include dancing and reading as much as I can. Growing up I always thought I wanted to be a lawyer. But after working for a law firm I decided that it was not for me. I began to volunteer with an organization called the Truancy Intervention Project in 2006. They work to prevent school failure by providing advocacy and other resources to Georgia's children and their families. Acknowledging my passion for children and enthusiasm for watching them succeed I decided to return to school to obtain my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education.
My desire for this Second Grade class is for all of my students to become well-rounded individuals who are thoughtful, compassionate and responsible people in a global community. This class will prepare them with specific skills using our comprehensive curriculum and ensuring they become life-long learners and critical thinkers. We will have fun learning about maps and geography and complete a project that encourages communication. I want you to know that you are all stars and with the right tools you can achieve anything you put your mind to because the sky is the limit.

Are you the Star of the Week!
