Hi
from Valdosta, Georgia! My name is Kaitlin Savitz and I am
currently going to Valdosta State
University and am enrolled in
the Early Childhood Education
program. I am originally from Cairo, Georgia, home of the
Syrupmakers and I absolutely loved my elementary
school, Shiver Elementary School. The
passion that my teachers had in their classrooms has inspired me to
become a great teacher that can make a difference in the lives of many
students.
One of my favorite pastimes is snorkeling. I do not get to do it as much as I would like because I do not live close to an ocean, but when I do get down to the beach I love to explore and find all kinds of underwater creatures. There is something so amazing about being out in the middle of something so vast. The underwater portion of the ocean is so quiet and snorkeling allows me to get away from the busy day to day and just enjoy in peace and quiet the nature at its best!
When it comes to finding a website that is useful in the subject of reading, Scholastic is the best. This website gives a summary of the books as well as reading levels, interest levels, genre and topics that it applies to. Scholastic has many other facets to its website including different sections for teachers, kids, parents, administrators, and librarians. There is something here for one and all! Another great website is Free Rice. This website helps students perfect their skills in vocabulary, multiplication tables, languages, geography, chemistry and art while helping the less fortunate in other countries by giving 10 grains of rice for every correct answer. This is a great tool for parents and teachers to help teach students that they can make a difference in someone else's life!
