Picture and Story by Kami Dykes

Once upon a time, there were three little
pigs. The pigs were moving out of their mother's house.
Each piggy decided that he would build a house of his own.
The first little piggy made his house out of
straw. The big bad wolf came along and knocked on the little
piggy's door. The little pig wouldn't let the wolf inside, so he
huffed and he puffed, and he blew the straw house down and ate the
little pig.
The second little piggy made his house out of
sticks. The big bad wolf was watching him too. He knocked
and knocked and the little piggy wouldn't let him in either. So,
he huffed and he puffed and he blew the second little pig's house down
and ate him too.
The third little piggy built his house out of
brick. The big bad wolf came knocking at his door. The
third little piggy wouldn't let him in. The wolf huffed and
puffed and huffed and puffed. He could not blow down this piggy's
house. So, the wolf says he will slide down the chimney and eat
the little piggy inside. The little pig builds a fire in the
fireplace and the wolf falls into the fire. That was the end of
the big bad wolf, and the third little piggy lived happily ever after.
Critical Thinking Questions:
1. How would the story be differenct if the little pigs had all
built houses made of brick?
2. If you were one of the little pigs, what would you do when the
wolf knocked on the door?
