Welcome To My
by Karen Barlow
My name is Karen Barlow, and I am a junior at Valdosta State
University. I am
currently working on my Bachelor's degree from the Early Childhood
and Reading Education Department. Spring
2004 was my first semester at VSU. I am fortunate to be able to
VSU on the South Georgia College Campus.
As you have probably guessed by now,
love flowers. I enjoy the challenge of designing areas in
yard that invite you to sit down, relax, and enjoy a small piece of
beautiful creation. I think it will take a lifetime to turn the dream
reality. Spending time with my family is my main hobby.
husband and I have been married for 15 years and have lived in 5
places along the way. In June of 2003, we moved from Baxley to Douglas. We have three
children, Zach, Kyle and Harrison. We enjoy vacations that
keep us active and teach us something about the area we are in.
This past summer
on our way to Atlanta, we detoured over to Lumpkin so we could hike to
bottom of Providence
Canyon. If you decide to try it, be sure to wear shoes and
that you would not mind getting dirty. I found out the wet, red
clay on the bottom of the canyon floor does not come out no matter what
cleaning product you use or how long you soak it.
After we arrived in Atlanta, we went to a Braves game, visited the World of Coca Cola and
experienced riding Marta. One of our favorite trips was to Chattanooga, TN. We
enjoyed the Tennessee River Aquarium, the Imax Theater, Incline
Railway and Ruby Falls, just to name a few. We also
hiked up Lookout Mountain and wound our way through Rock
City. This summer we will be taking a break from all
the action and heading to Fernandina Beach to
spend a few days swimming and fishing.
