My name is Jocelyn Kelley, and ever since my freshman year I have gone by my last name, Kelley. Now that I am getting into my professional field, my first name Jocelyn, seems much more appropriate. I am from the small town of Villa Rica, GA. Being that everybody knows everybody there, I am extremely talkative and friendly. I am a Junior at Valdosta State University and am enrolled into the Early Childhood and Special Education Department.

My major is Early Childhood Education with aspirations of being a second or third grade teacher. My plan is to minor in psychology and to someday get my Doctorate in Education Leadership. I have great educational ideas and cannot wait to share them with, as well as learn from, my future co-workers and students.

I am a Resident Assistant at Centennial Hall, which are on campus, upper-classmen apartments. I truly love my job! It's not every day that you are able to work where you live! I adore my residents and appreciate my staff. Even though there are some crazy times, I would not trade a single moment for all the gummy candy in the world!

When my daddy was in the NAVY, we moved around a lot! Back then when I was little, I could not understand nor appreciate what was happening. In my mind, I was losing friends quicker than I was gaining them. I have lived in North Carolina, Virgina, Arizona and Rhode Island. It did not dawn on me that I was extremely lucky and blessed until I had two birthday's in one year. My  parents announced that we were going to Okinawa, Japan. I was a bit disappointed, but anxious at the same time. We left the United States on my birthday and, due to Japan's time zone, we arrived on my birthday! Wow right? That's exactly what I thought when I was showered with gifts twice in one day!

As teachers we have need to be mindful of all the different resources that are out there to  help us. There are plenty of books and magazines and other people that are willing to share their knowledge. I have visited various web sites and I found PBS Teachers very helpful when it comes to finding  television programs that are suitable for all different topics.  Another helpful website is The Learning Page. This site does wonders when it comes to mastering or getting ideas for worksheets, workbooks or lesson plans.
