This is a story
about a grouchy ladybug who tries to fight other creatures over aphids
on a leaf. The grouchy ladybug always backs down claiming that
the creature is not big enough.
At five o'clock
in the morning, a grouchy ladybug challenges another
ladybug to a fight over aphids on a leaf, but decides that the other
ladybug is not "big enough anyway." The grouchy ladybug flies on, and
each hour she meets another creature (they get larger each time) to
whom she makes the challenge, "Hey you, wanna fight?" She backs down,
insisting that they are not big enough, and flies on. The twelfth
creature she encounters is
a whale, who ultimately slaps her with his tail and sends her
back to the leaf where she started. By the end, she is tired and humble.
She returns to the aphid-colored leaf.
In the end, the grouchy ladybug gets slapped by the
whale with his tail. She is sent back to her aphid-colored leaf tired
and humble.
