Hello, Kids!  Would you like to take an adventure to the Land of Nutrition?  Would you like to learn about different types of food?  Would you like to know what foods are good for you?  If you answered yes to any of these questions then I can help you.  The following websites will help you determine what a healthy diet is and how to choose good nutritious foods that you and your family can enjoy.  Have fun as you journey into the Land of Nutrtion!

Have you ever wondered how many servings of fruits, vegetables, breads, milk, meat, and fats you should have a day?  You can find out all this information and play the Food Guide Pyramid Game here.

Would you like to learn interesting facts about how food helps your body grow? Did you know that it is important to eat the right foods to stay healthy?  You can find this information here and learn really cool receipes.
Take a quiz on nutrtion here.  Find out how to build healthy eating habits, how to store food properly, and what to eat when you go out.  This is a really COOL place to visit.
Did you know that it is important to keep some foods at certain temperatures and to cook some foods longer than others?  This is were you can find all the tips you need to be safe while preparing and eating your meals.

Mission Activity
  Imagine that you are a chef and you are about to prepare a meal for Mrs. Force's class.  You want to make sure that you choose a good nutrtious meal for the class.  Remember that the students in her class are still growing and need a variety of foods.  Make sure that you choose foods from all five food groups.  Remember, your mission is to prepare a meal that is nutritious for Mrs. Force's class.  Make sure that you use the food guide pyramid to help you choose.

Mission Steps
1. The first step is to look at the food guide pyramid.
2.  The second step is to choose foods from all five groups to serve the class.
3.  The third step is to make a menu of the meal that you have chosen to prepare, you will draw a picture of the food and dictate to me what the picture is and I will write it down for you.
