One day a
little girl named Sue went walking to the park. It was a cold day
and she longed for the summer days to arrive soon so she could play
with her best friend, Sunny the sun.
Sue lived in a quiet little town and didn't have very many
friends. She wanted Sunny to come out and play on her beautiful
playground with her.
She walked two blocks
starring into the sky looking for her friend between the thick white
clouds but she still couldn't find Sunny. She called up into the
sky,"Sunny where are you?" But little Sue still got no
response. When Sue got to the
park she sat on the swings and started to move her legs back and forth
so she could reach high up into the sky. Sue swang so high she
pushed the clouds away with her hand and kicked the stardust aside to
make room for Sunny. Soon other children joined in and swung so
high that they started kicking the clouds out of the way. Soon
with the help of all the other children the clouds were all out of the
sky.
There Sunny came, in one beam, right down on
Sue. Sue jumped off her swing and stretched high up to the sky to
say hello to Sunny. Sunny loved to play with the other children
and was so pleased that everyone helped bring her onto the
sky. Sunny was here to stay for the summer for the
two best friends to have lots of fun.
