My love for cookies and all sweets came from my Dad. We shared the late night craving for just one cookie. He taught me how to dip my cookies into milk, and from that day on I was hooked.  I craved education the same way. I've always enjoyed school and learning, so I am happy that I am now at Valdosta State University learning how to become an Early Childhood Education teacher.  I am surprised at how quickly the time has gone by, and cannot believe that in two short years I will have my own classroom to teach. All my life I have gone to school and listened to someone else, but soon I will be the one influencing others and hopefully giving them the chance to crave education too!

Since I love cookies so much, I have to do something to burn off all the calories. I have recently taken an interest in running. When I was younger, I loved to run track. When I got into middle school and high school my family and I participated in marathons.  I am so glad that I was able to learn at a young age the importance of being active.  Doing these marathons allowed me to gain that knowledge and gave me opportunities to travel, which is another thing I love, but it is too expensive for a college student.  I have gotten away from walking and running in the past few years, but started again this past summer running. I really enjoy getting the exercise and seeing myself get better each day as running becomes easier.

I am learning how much information is available to teachers and parents about education.  There are so many websites that can be useful for us to use. These websites are another "ingredient" to mix into our knowledge of education.  As a future teacher, there is a lot I need to learn about education.  A to Z Teacher Stuff has already been a great resource for me.  I can go here and absorb so many ideas, tips, and general information.  This allows me to gain and update my knowledge of teaching.  The internet is very useful for parents too.  I believe it is important for parents to be involved in their child's education and Family Education can help you do that.  Here you can find information on how to encourage your child's learning with activities and quizzes. There is also  information for parents about how to help their children with emotional issues, how to be responsible, and any other challenges your child may be facing.  It is a very educational website that every parent should become familiar with.
