Mr.
Hughes' Fast Track to Learning
Designed by Jeff Hughes

Welcome
Parents/Guardians and students Mr. Hughes' class webpage. We're here at
Willacoochee
Elementary School home of the Willacoochee Wildcats. Willacoochee
Elementary has approximately 350 students ranging in grades Pre-K thru
7. We have met AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) for the last 3 years. The
community of Willacoochee
was incorporated November 12, 1889 and was the first settlement in what
is now Atkinson County. Atkinson
County was incorporated August 15, 1917 and has a population of
approximately 7600. It was named after William Yates Atkinson who was
Govenor and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
My name is Jeff Hughes and I
reside in
Willacoochee, Ga. I have been married to my wife Sandra for 19 years
and we have two beautiful children Sarah and Harrison. I was in the
Army before I started my career with Wal-Mart in 1987. I have worked as
an hourly and management associate for almost 21 years. My hobbies are
hunting, fishing, and playing with my children. I enjoy learning about
new and interesting subjects, but I also like War History.
I will be in an inclusive classroom setting as
a Special Education
Teacher. I will be servicing 10-15 students, grades 3-7 in all
subjects. This will an interesting and challenging starting point to my
new career. Inclusion
is relatively new concept as far as implementation on a large scale.
What is inclusion you ask? Inclusion is where the special education
teacher goes into the regular education classroom and services their
students, instead of taking them out placing them in a resource room.
