Before we get started I want to let you know about me. Not only
am I your teacher, I am also a student just like you. I am
currently enrolled at Valdosta
State University where I am working towards my Masters Degree in
Special Education. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Georgia Southern University
in Statesboro, GA. Since this class focuses on careers, here is a
little background on my career: I am currently a teacher at Flowery
Branch High School which is a member of the Hall County School System.
I work in the Special Education Department and teach in the Career
Prepatory Program. Along with the Careers class I also teach Life
Skills, Social Skills, and Biology. Before joining the wonderful
world of education, I worked in the business world as a banker with BB&T. I am also one for the boys soccer coaches
here at FBHS, and it is a great joy coaching them. When I am not
at school I like to spend my free time with my family and friends,
especially my wife Stacia and our dogs. Besides coaching soccer,
I
also like to play it. I also enjoy going 4wheeling in my Jeep Wrangler and doing my best to
play golf!
This web page is for the students in my high school
Careers class. We will be discussing possible career
opportunities available after high school. We will cover the
various documents that are needed when starting a career such as job
applications, resumes, cover letters, tax forms, and various business
documents. We will also cover math related topics associated with
careers. This will include salaries, wages, taxes, hours, and
even bills and personal spending. I cannot wait for class to
begin! Here is an interesting site where you can get an idea of
some of the topics we will be learning! Junior Achievment Student Center
