The Very Busy Spider

The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle

One morning a spider gets blown across a field and lands on a fence post.  Behind her trails a silky thread.  At that moment she begins to spin her web.

While she is busy at work several of the farm animals stop by. They all ask her if she wants to do certain things but she never answers them she is too busy spinning her web.

Among the animals that stop by is an owl who asks who built the beautiful web but the spider didn't answer.  Why?

If you had the choice to work or play what would you choose to do?  Why?
