Hello, my name is Stacey Matthews and I am a junior at Valdosta State University. I have just recently entered into my first professional block in Early Childhood Education.  My expected graduation date is Fall of 2008. After graduation, I plan to pursue my master's degree in education.  I would love to teach in a preschool or kindergarten classroom.  I am very excited to become a teacher, and hope that I can make a positive impact on each of my student's lives, as many of my teachers made on mine.  Kids are my passion, my heart, and I hope that through my teaching my students can see how much I love them.

I have a wide range of activities that I love to do! I'm a very sporty person, so playing sports like softball, volleyball, tennis, or just anything else for fun is something that I enjoy very much. Outdoor activities such as skiing or whitewater rafting are two things that I get a great thrill out of.  I am a huge fan of watching UGA Football, and it gives me a chance to spend time with my friends and family! Horse back riding is something that I find to be very relaxing, so anytime I need to get away; I saddle up Blaze and strike out to the feilds.

I grew up in the small town of Fitzgerald, Ga.  I have two older brothers, making me the baby and the only girl. I grew up at the softball field along side of my brothers and my dad. I attended the Fitzgerald High School, where I spent most of my time in my extracurricular activities such as, cheerleading, swim team, show choir, student government, and technology student association. I graduated in May of 2003 and began college in the Fall at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where I earned my Associates of Science degree.

I have found a few websites that I find that are very useful for teachers to use in the classroom for students to use as a learning tool! Funbrain.com is an excellent site for students to play find educational games that involve having fun and learning the key essentials at the same time. Another site that I found interesting was The Teacher's Corner. This site have lesson plans for teachers to share, along with seasonal idea, bulletin board ideas, worksheets, and many more things for teachers to share.
