Footprints on the beach.

My name is Heather Davis. I was born in Marietta, Georgia, which is about 20 minutes north of Atlanta. I attended Eastvalley Elementary School, which is where I was inspired to become a teacher. Then I attended East Cobb Middle School. I was a cheerleader for football in the 7th and 8th grades. We also competed against other middle schools in the area. Then I attended Joseph Wheeler High School, where I played the clarinet in the marching band for four years. My Senior year I was Band President.  I am currently a junior at Valdosta State University. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education in the Early Childhood and Special Education Department.

Me hiking on a mountain          Me at the top of a mountain     Sitting on a cliff

I love the outdoors. In the summer of 2009, my family and I took a trip to New York where my Dad grew up as a child. We camped in the Adirondak Mountains for a week and hiked up several mountains! The picture on the right is a picture of me at the top of a mountain at 2700 Feet!

Christie and I at her bridal luncheon.        Christie and I in Times Square      Family on mountain

I love my family very much. The girl in the picture above all the way to the left is my new sister-in-law. Her name is Christie. She and my brother got married on December 13, 2008. She is the newest addition to our family. The middle picture is of us in Times Square in New York City when we went this past summer. We had so much fun!

My mom and me at wildlife ranch.     My mom and me     Me feeding a goat.
My mom lives in Texas. Whenever I go to visit her we go to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. You drive through the park in your own car, and the wildlife animals walk up to your car and you can feed them out of your windows. It is really cool to get so close to the exotic animals!

My dad and me   Dad and me on bikes.  Dad and I eating ice cream in New York   Dad and I on Brooklyn Bridge
My dad (right picture) still lives in Marietta. He started mountain biking a couple years ago. Now we mountain bike together whenever we get a chance. My favorite trails to ride are in Augusta, GA. They're called F.A.T.S. (Forks Area Trail System). We also ride several trails near the Chattahoochee River. The picture on the right is of us on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City while on our trip last summer!

Me at the zoo  Lee and komodo dragon  Me and monkey statue.  Lee and me and the elephants

I love going to the zoo! My favorite zoo is the Columbia Zoo in South Carolina. My boyfriend took me a couple summers ago as a suprise trip! We had so much fun! It was the first zoo I ever went to that had a bear in it! I also loved all the little statues of the animals. I took more pictures with those than any other animals!

A very important website that I think would be helpful for other teachers and parents is "I Love That Teaching Idea!" This website is very useful for many different reasons. It has available worksheets for further instruction, and also further activities! Another useful website is ABC TEACH. This website also has many useful resources and worksheets to further your students education. One more website that I really find useful is the Visual Dictionary. This website has charts, diagrams, and pictures of just about everything you could want to show to your students, all the way from the central nervous system, to the parts of a flower! This website is very helpful in explaining and teaching.
