The Harrell Family Album

For friends and family members that don't get to see our family very often, come back to this page every few months to see updates!  Having children has definitely been a learning experience. Feel free to read my commentary.

Sean

Sean was born on Tuesday, October 24, 1995 at 10:45pm.  He weighed  8.5 pounds and was 21 inches long. We didn't find out whether he was a boy or a girl in advance, and that really added to the excitement. The following night, Sean started turning blue. He had to be flown to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. He had tubes and IV's everywhere. He was in NICU at Shands until Wednesday, November 8 when he was flown back to South Georgia Medical Center. Finally, on Tuesday, November 21, 1995, we got to bring Sean home. He got to come home two days before Thanksgiving. Sherry and I were truly thankful on Thanksgiving Day. Thankful for the quality health care that he received, for the many people who prayed for him, and for the healing power of faith. This photo was taken on the day that he got out of the hospital. He was exactly four weeks old.

Here is Sean on March 8, 1996 at 4 and 1/2 months!  He is doing really well now, and he has two very proud parents.

Here is Sean's 11 month photo.  He is growing up so quickly.  He now sits up on his own and pulls up to stand on his own. It's very exciting to watch him grow! It can be very tiring also - especially at 3:00am when he is standing up in his crib. He now crawls around the house and gets into everything he can find. His latest fun time is to stand up at the fireplace and "cruise" up and down the fireplace. It looks like he'll be walking soon. Today, October 24, 1996 is his first birthday. We are very proud of him. He has a wonderful laugh and good disposition. He is very healthy - a fact that we are still grateful for. His vocabulary is growing. It now includes seven words: dada, mama, byebye, baba, uhoh, oh, and hi.

Here is Sean's 15 month photo.  He started walking shortly after this photo was taken.  The first day, he took about 3 steps. I thought that the next day he would be able to take 4 steps, and so on. He fooled me! Within 2 days, he was walking all over the house. He loves to explore the house and find new things to get into. He also enjoys going outside, playing in his sandbox, swinging in his swing, and playing with the neighbors dog. Indoors, he likes to throw his ball and kick the soccer ball. He is always willing to help his Mom and his Dad do whatever they are doing. He especially likes to help with the dishwasher, and if I break out my tool box, WATCH OUT!, because he's ready to help. He GREATLY enjoys watching Barney, and says "ohhhh" with a great deal of excitement whenever we turn it on. Watching him grow is such a joy! His vocabulary is growing very quickly. The neighbors have a "doggy", anything dropped is "uh-oh", and "da-deeee" is still my favorite! He has recently added "wow", "baby", and "ball" to his growing vocabulary. Sherry went back to work at the start of February. She has started her own law practice and is working 2-3 days a week.

August 25, 1997. A couple of weeks ago while racing with me in the yard, Sean learned to say "Ready? Go!" It is now one of his favorite sayings as he dives on top of me or plunges from the couch. It also sums up his personality!

Brandon was born on April 20, 1998.  He weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 22 inches long.  This photo was taken when he was 1 month old.

09/27/98.  Brandon is now 5 months old.  He really adds to our household.  He has a very sweet disposition and wonderful smile.  He favorite word is "geh."
