Miss Cawthon's
Playful Web Den

aHello!  My names is Emily Cawthon, and I am a junior at Valdosta State University.  I am currently working on my Bachelor's degree from the Early Childhood and Reading Education Department.  I plan to complete my studies at VSU in December of 2005.
Teaching is my passion!  I believe that every child has a right to be well educated and possesses the ability to succeed. I hope that I will be able to teach in a public school system in Thomas County on completion of graduation.  I am ready to make a difference.

aUntil I moved to Valdosta, I lived in Perry, Georgia all my life.  Although Perry is a rather small town, it is home to the Georgia National Fairgrounds which, once a year, host one of the largest fairs in the county. I hope to soon move to the wonderful town of Thomasville, Georgia.  Thomasville is a lot like Perry and has many small town, country perks.

aI stay very busy in both the Thomasville and Valdosta community!  I attend First Baptist Church in Thomasville, am a Student Government Senator, and work at the Housing Office for VSU.  Also, I am a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  I work on several community service projects, such as, habit for humanity, the haven women's shelter, and the Ronald McDonald House.  I have also been in several plays at Perry Players Community Theatre and Theatre Macon.  I also enjoy attending plays and theatre events.  Another activity that I love taking part in is watching and going to Georgia Bulldog games. "Go Dogs!"

a I dedicate this web page and my future teaching career to the teachers who had the most influence on my decision to become a teacher and helped me through out my many years in school.  These individuals not only made a difference in my life; they played a part in shaping and molding me into the person I am proud to be today.
