Congratulation!
You have just been selected as one of the few children who get to
travel back in time to 1621! While aboard the Mayflower you are
to choose what you would like to do to help the crew with the voyage.
You have also been invited to join the
Pilgrims and the Native Americans at the first Thanksgiving
supper! You cannot come to the feast empty handed, and you do not
want to stand out by wearing your clothes from this time period.
You must bring 2 food items that would have
been eaten at the feast, and you must dress like either a pilgrim or an
Native American. Also, you are going to be asked to start the
blessing of thanks at the feast by saying what you are
thankful for. Here's how it works:
MISSION STEPS 1. Find out how the Pilgrims came to America. Click here to explore the website about the Mayflower. Take a tour and find out all the jobs there are to do when on a ship. Choose one thing you would like to help out with while on your voyage. 2. Find 2 foods that were probally served at the first feast and bring them along with you. Draw a picture of the food looks like. You may need some help. You can ask one of the nice pilgrim ladies or one of the natives to help you out with the cooking. Need some ideas on what to bring?
