Congratulation!  You have just been selected as one of the few children who get to travel back in time to 1621!  While aboard the Mayflower you are to choose what you would like to do to help the crew with the voyage. You have also been invited to join the Pilgrims and the Native Americans at the first Thanksgiving supper!  You cannot come to the feast empty handed, and you do not want to stand out by wearing your clothes from this time period.  You must bring 2 food items that would have been eaten at the feast, and you must dress like either a pilgrim or an Native American.  Also, you are going to be asked to start the blessing of thanks at the feast  by saying what  you are thankful for.  Here's how it works:

1. Find out how the Pilgrims came to America.  Click here to explore the website about the Mayflower.  Take a tour and find out all the jobs there are to do when on a ship.  Choose one thing you would like to help out with while on your voyage.

2. Find 2 foods that were probally served at the first feast and bring them along with you.  Draw a picture of the food looks like.  You may need some help.  You can ask one of the nice pilgrim ladies or one of the natives to help you out with the cooking.  Need some ideas on what to bring?  Click here.

3. Decide whether you want to be a Pilgrim or a Native American.  Find clothes that look like what they would have worn in 1621.  Draw a picture of the outfit you have choosen to wear at the feast.  If you need some help click here

4. For some extra fun, think about all the things you are thankful for.  Are you thankful for your mom and dad?  Are you thankful for your teacher or your brother or sister?  Draw a picture of what or who you are thankful for!

Have a great Thanksgiving and remember to give thanks!
