Welcome to the class page for Mrs. Davis's Literature and
Composition class at Pierce
County High School, located in Blackshear, Georgia. Pierce
County
is located in southeast Georgia, and is the proud home of the Pierce
County Bears. So far in 2008, the Bears have ranked Region Champs in
Baseball and Boys and Girls Golf, and have ranked in the top three
regional slots for soccer, tennis, and track. Go Bears! Blackshear is
also the home of Stewart's
Candy Company.
This year will be my second teaching at PCHS. I am the Student Council
advisor and work with the JV cheerleaders. I graduated from
Truett-McConnell College and Georgia Southern University, and I am
currently working on my master's degree through Valdosta State
University. I began my teaching career in Statesboro at the Ombudsman
Alternative School. In addition to literature, my hobbies include
learning German, scrapbooking, painting, and animal rescue.
This page is the help introduce to you my upcoming Tenth grade
Literature and Composition class. We will cover literature from a
variety of sources, and hopefully make reading enjoyable by the end of
the year. In addition to literature, a large component of the class
will be composition. Our ultimate writing goal for this year will be to
get all students ready for the Georgia
High School Graduation Test, which will be taken at the beginning
of the eleventh grade year. I look forward to working with you all
throughout this year.
