Imagine
being an ant and coming home to find a cucumber blocking the entrance to
your anthill. Well, that's exactly what happens in this book.
The ants are not strong enough to move the cucumber, so they call on all
of their insect friends for help. No matter how many insects try
to assist the ants, the cucumber will not budge.
Finally,
a very small but confident flea offers his help. All of the other
insects insist that there is no way such a tiny flea could move the cucumber.
But to their surprise, the flea is successful in his task. The moral
of the story is that no matter how big or small one is, if he or she believes
in him or herself, anything can be accomplished.
If you had been the flea, how would you have reacted to the way the other insects treated you?
