Resources for Developing SMART Notebook Lessons

A. See SMART Exchange (exchange.smarttech.com) for Examples of SMART Notebook Activities - SMART Board lessons are submitted by teachers for sharing  (Be sure you have downloaded the free SMART Notebook Software to be able to download SMART Notebook lessons to use.  See download SMART Notebook Software directions below.  Then you will be able to save, change, or develop your own SMART Notebook lessons to use in a classroom.)
    
   
1. You can search in SMART Exchange for a SMART Board lesson by subject and grade or you can search by title of a lesson

      2.
When you find a lesson that you would like to review, then click on "Download".  (The first time you select Download, you will be asked to register for free use of lessons in SMART Exchange using SMART Notebook software.  If you have not downloaded the free SMART Notebook software, you can look at the lesson using the SMART Notebook Express listed by the lessons.)

      3. After you download the lesson, you can change anything in the lesson to make it develpmentally appropriate for your students.

Download: "SMART Notebook Software" at:
*Go to : www2.smarttech.com/st/enUS/Support/Downloads/default.htm
* Select:
under SMART Notebook software, select your operating system (most students have windows operating system, which is PC)
* Under "New Customers" go to "Download" button
* Fill out form (Be sure to note you are at Valdosta State University)
* Read & Check the agreement terms
* Click on "Start download" button
* Follow directions
After you download the SMART Notebook software:
* On your computer's desktop will be an icon labeled: boardsp7nbs.......... Click on the icon and follow the directions
* When filling out the information window give your User Name, list next to Organization: Valdosta State University, and for the Product Key use this 22 digit Product Key: NB-AECSE-A2FXU-75MEF-JWASH

(SMART Technologies allows VSU students to download the SMART Notebook software because VSU has purchased numerous SMART Boards.)
