Data Collection Assignments:

The information for the Data Collection Assignment will be collected during the full two weeks in your practicum classroom/environment.  (You will find your Data Collection hand-out helpful for this assignment.)  Follow the outline below to complete your Data Collection Assignment.

I. There are two sets of data to collected.

    A. First set of data related to social and academic behaviors of students (student engagement,  positive peer interactions,

achievement of learning objectives)

        1. You will need to:

            a.  Select and describe the behavior that you are going to measure and record

            b. Define the target behavior

            c. Choose and identify the data collection system you will use

           d. Determine and note when you are going to collect data

           e. Describe how you implemented the data collection system

           f. Summarize and graph your data

           g. Analyze data

   
           h. Reflect on the effectiveness of their management strategies

        
           i. Identify other appropriate strategies for positively impacting these behaviors

    B. Second set of data related to teacher candidate  behaviors (active supervision, error correction, rate of opportunities to

respond, feedback).
 

            a.  Select and describe the behavior that you are going to measure and record

            b. Define the target behavior

            c. Choose and identify the data collection system you will use

           d. Determine and note when you are going to collect data

           e. Describe how you implemented the data collection system

           f. Summarize and graph your data

           g. Analyze data

   
           h. Reflect on the effectiveness of their management strategies

        
           i. Identify other appropriate strategies for positively impacting these behaviors
