Valdosta State University Faculty Brass Quintet

Faculty members of the quintet include: Kristen Johns, horn; Eric Bradshaw, tuba; Leon Smith, trumpet; Doug Farwell, trombone and Kenneth Kirk, trumpet. The quintet enjoys performing at high schools and in the surrounding community. The brass area offers free clinics as well as special workshops and other events for each instrument. The Valdosta State University Faculty Brass Quintet was formed in September of 1995 with the addition of three new brass faculty members. Valdosta State University now has a performing artist on the faculty for each of the brass instruments. The brass faculty is made up of members that are active as clinicians, soloists and chamber musicians and have appeared throughout the United States, Canada, Central and Eastern Europe. Members of the quintet have also performed with more than 30 different professional orchestras.
