My name is Dr Cecilia Barnbaum.  Well, this is an old picture of me, and although I have shorter hair these days, it resembles me well enough.  I have a PhD in Astronomy (Astrophysics) from UCLA.  I was a President's Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley and a Jansky Fellow at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory.  Then I did a stint as a research astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) which, through NASA, runs the Hubble Space Telescope.  I decided I wanted to go back to teaching, and 13 years ago I found myself teaching physics and astronomy at VSU.

If you would like to see my CV, it can be found by clicking on my picture, above.

If you would like to see what I do when not doing science.... go to my children's book site
