Tift County High School

designed by Bryan W. Gannaway

The Universe begins but How far away?

I teach at Tift County High School in Tifton,  Georgia.
Our mission at the TCHS Mathematics Department
is to provide our students with higher understanding  of
mathematics,  problem solving and real world applications.

We are located in Tifton,  Georgia,  the county seat of Tift County.
TCHS is the only high school for the entire county.
The city of Tifton was named twice as one of the best 100 towns in America.
It is home to the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College,  a branch of the University of Georgia
and a branch of Moultrie Technical College.
Tift County covers about 265 square miles and has a population of about 40, 000,
about 40% of whom live in the city of Tifton.

Very Close to Home

I have been playing pool most of my life. I am rated as a semi-professional pool player.  About three years ago,
a woman approached me and asked me to teach her to be better a poolplayer. I married her a year later.
My wife and I play doubles competitively on an amateur level. Two times, we have won the Atlanta Doubles Championships and
other local and regional tournaments.  We have made it to the money rounds each time in Las Vegas.
(see our pictures here and I'm in the red shirt. www.apa-atlanta.com)

Possibilities are endless

I teach Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Math I, and Math II
to
sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Although our curriculum is mandated by the state,
I like to make my classes fun, but here is the website that isn't that much fun.
