Cedarwood is a part of the GNETS program. The Claxton site provides services for Bulloch, Evans, Chandler, and Tattnall county.   Claxton continues to hold the title of  "Fruit Cake Capital of the World".

Claxton Fruit Cake

I have been teaching at Cedarwood for 4 years. When I'm not teaching, or completing Valdosta State assignments, I enjoy playing Xbox 360, reading, and canoeing. I usually canoe down the Ocmulgee River and picnic on a sand bar  at "three rivers". Three rivers is where the Oconee River and Ocmulgee River both join to create the Altamaha River.

I instruct 6-12 grade math, in a small group setting. We have currently implemented Trans. Math at all Cedarwood sites for grades 5-12. Trans. Math is a curriculum designed for math remediation. This year at the Cedarwood Claxton site we witnessed a dramatic increase in math CRCT  scores. I have been invited to join a committee this summer to help redesign Cedarwood's Math curriculum. This will help ensure math CRCT success throughout every Cedarwood site.
