Greetings! My name is Beth Rehberg. I am a student at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. I am majoring in the Early Childhood and Special Education Interrelated Program. I plan to teach in Special Education assisting children with emotional and behavioral needs.
I look forward to the challenge and excitement of working in a setting that is constantly changing! As a teacher I know that I will need resources to consult for help with planning and ideas; currently I enjoy the PBS website because it allows planning for instruction in all content areas as well as coordinating the programs that are played for a certain day with educational activities. The site also provides educators with professional articles and preferred practices in the early childhood field. Another site that is useful and completely free is provided by Google called the infinite thinking machine and is a forum of exchange for teachers worldwide. Teachers can sign up for a free e-mail newsletter as well. The site provides free educational videos that can be used and immediately applied in the classroom. Although this website is not directed specifically for early childhood educators it is certainly a useful tool.

Living a healthier lifestyle and becoming more physically fit has become my hobby especially since my daughter Anika has become a lot more active.I feel it is important to be a healthy  example for her and the children that I will come into contact with as a teacher.
I have recently started running as a part of my plan to be more active. I have found it to be fun and challenging especially since I compete against myself and my previous running time. I also enjoy running because I can take Anika along with me and push her in her jogging stroller. I ran in my very first event at VSU's Centennial 5K recently and didn't come in last! That was a big accomplishment for me. My long term goal is to be able to run a marathon and my short term goal is to be able to run five miles without feeling like I'm going to die!

My husband Ben and I used to live in Colorado Springs, Colorado before moving to Georgia. We enjoyed living near the mountains and taking part of the many outdoor activites that were convenient to the area. One of our favorite places to go was the Garden of the Gods. There are great running and walking trails available for public use and of course the beautiful scenery makes it a wonderful place to visit.
