Zoo Keeper

Do you like Polar Bears, Lions, Hippopotamus's, Flamingo's, Zebra's, Snakes, Elephants, Leopards, Peacocks, and Walrus's?  Do you know what sounds they make?  Well if so you will love Eric Carle's book Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?

The entire book is filled with colorful illustations of the above animals including the main character the Polar Bear.  "What do you hear" asks the various animals to each other.

In the end there is a humorous twist in which the Zoo Keeper is asked what does he hear.  The Zoo Keeper responds by saying, "I hear Children."  The Children are dressed up as animals and making the noises of such.

Why do you think the children are dressed up as animals?
