Topic Mini-Research Real World Activity

Congratulations!  You have been invited to go on a cruise on the Mayflower to America, the new world, in 1621.  You have just arrived and you have just met some interesting new people called the Wampanoag Indians.  After your long journey to the new world, you have just finished your new village that took 10 long months to build!    Your starving  and you have just made friends with Wampanoag Indians.  Now it is time to have a feast that no one will ever forget!

Your job is to prepare a Thanksgiving feast .  Go to the Thanksgiving Feast Slideshow to help you plan a meal.   Then draw and color your meal on a paper plate.
Steps to Complete Real World Activity
  1. Explore the slideshow about the first Thanksgiving Feast
  2. As you are viewing the website, think about the food that the Pilgrims and Indians prepared for the first Thanksgiving feast. 
  3. Decide which foods you liked the best and what you would like to add to your Thanksgiving feast. 
  4. Now make your own Thanksgiving feast using the provided materials (Paper plates, crayons, and markers).  Draw, color, and label the foods you would like to have for your own Thanksgiving feast.
