My name is Ashley Jackson and I am from Macon,Georgia. Where I attended Clisby Fine Arts Magnet School, but it is currently referred to as Vineville Academy.  I later attended Miller Middle School and Central High School.  During the time I attended school in Macon, I was also enrolled in dance.  Although I do not continue to take dance lessons I still hole a strong passion for the art of dance. I am currently attending Valdosta State University where I am now majoring in Early Childhood Education. While attending VSU I am also modeling and helping middle and high school young ladies build character for themselves and learn the appropriate way to present themselves in public. If a young lady is never taught how to be a woman what will be the outcome?  So as I continue my journey in the education system my goal is to make a difference in the lives of young women and men. It has always been my dream to become an educator because I grew up within the school system and I was proud to see the change that my teachers made.  One day I strive to be as inspiring and those teachers who taught me.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy dancing, and listening to music.  I believe that the right genre of music can make the world a more peaceful place.  I listen to a wide varitety of music and believe that music can make learning easier.  My teacher would play soft classical music during exams and creative writing which relaxed me and allowed me to have an open mind.  Music is one thing that I will try to incorporate into activities.  One website that I have been visiting for a while now is America Online because it meets all of my viewing needs.  I can listen to music, play games, find out news around the world, and also find out sports score.  There is so much to be learned from this website and it has also helped to keep others entertained as well.  I love spending time with my nephew and other children and because of this is my passion for teaching has grown.  My mother has helped guide me on this journey with her being experienced in the school system.  My goal is to be as good of a teacher as she is, and it is always better if you have concrete foundation to guide you.

I have recently come in to contact with students that have special needs and one website that I have found to be very knowledgeable about this particular topic is Autism Society of America.  Another website that parents can visit in order to understand the curriculum that there children are being taught is a the GeorgiaStandards.org webiste.  Both websites can be very informal when it comes to how a child learns and what they must learn as the progressively grow older.
