Spring Into Learning

My Name is Ali Greba. I grew up in  Douglasville, Ga and I graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 2007. I am currently a junior at Valdosta State University and I am pursuing a major in Early Childhood Education through the Early Childhood and Special Education Department.  I chose the theme of my page because I love the spring time. Everything is always so vibrant and new. I want my classroom to be fun, inviting, vibrant and full of new knowledge just like the spring time.  I have always wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I want to help children learn and help them become the best student they can be. A lot of teachers in my past have influenced my life and I want to be that person for my students someday.  I can remember playing school when I was younger and I couldn't wait to be a teacher someday. Now that my dream of becoming a teacher is not far off I could not be more excited.

I am a sister of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. I have held the office of Recording Secretary and I am currently Executive Vice President on our Executive Council. ADPi has helped me to grow as a person. I have met a wonderful group of friends and I have gained leadership skills that I would never have gained anywhere else. Our Philanthropy is The Ronlad McDonald House Charities.  The Ronald McDoanld House gives the families of children that are being hospitalized for a long period of time somewhere to stay that is near by to the hospital. Through this organization I am able to help children and their families. So again I am helping children and that is one of my passions.

I have 2 older brothers, Brandon and Andrew, they have always been my protectors and I have a younger sister, Ashleigh, who has always been my best friend. I have an amazing mother and father. They have been my rock my entire life and I owe everything to them. Growing up I was a dancer, a tennis player, I was envolved in the chorus and musicals and I was an honor roll student. I was a very busy high schooler and I loved it. I have continued to carry over the role of being super busy and super involved into my college career. Since joining my sorority I have something planned almost every night of the week and I love it. I know that pursuing a major in education is going to be a lot of hard work but I am so ready to start and to become the teacher I have always wanted to be. I have found some  educational websites that will be helpful for teachers, parents and myself. The Georgia Performance Standards website will help teacher and myself search for the information that they will need to teach their students in order for them to be successful. The Education World: Parent's Community will provide parents with guidance to help their children learn at home and Education.com will provide teachers with resources to use in their classroom. Feel free to use any of the resources that I have linked on this page and if you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me using my e-mail at the bottom of the page.
