My name is Mrs. Jones and I am a co-teacher at Ware County High School in Waycross, GA.  Here at WCHS we have approximately 1500 students and 110 faculty members.  Ware County High is a Talent Development high school.  This means that after your 9th grade year you will choose an academy and then a pathway to follow.  There are three academies to choose from.  The CHAPS academy offers pathways in the areas of teaching, culinary arts, and law enforcement.  Ware A & M houses the pathways for agriculture and nursing.  And the TIME academy is for students interested in small business and computer programs.

This is my second year at WCHS and I LOVE being a Gator!  My husband works here too...some of you might know Coach Jones.  He is the offensive coordinator for the football team.  We have three little girls that range in age from 5 years to 4 months.  We call them our little cheerleading squad...they love to cheer on the Gators!

We have an exciting year ahead of us in 11th grade American Literature.  You will find that this American Literature class is very similar to American History.  We will study a wide range of American writers including Benjamin Frankilin, Mary Rowlandson, Edgar Allen Poe, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, F.Scott Fitzgerald, and many more.  We will also take a look at the different literary periods.  This is an End of Course Test class.  The EOCT will count for 15% of your final grade.  We will take the EOCT on May 3rd and 4th. Please note the table below - we will reference these links at different points throughout the semester.
