Dancing Frogs

Hello! My name is Ashley Chauncey and I am an Early Childhood Education major at Valdosta State University. I was born in Valdosta, Georgia, but I spent most of my early childhood moving from place to place because my father was in the military. I have lived in Germany and Las Vegas. In addition, I have been to every southern state in the United States!

I knew at an early age that I wanted to become a teacher. I remember putting all of my stuffed animals in rows on my bed and getting out my mini chalkboard. I would create all kinds of math problems for my fluffy students to do. Once they were done, I would quickly grab their papers and grade them with my red ink pen. I would then place a smiley face sticker at the top of their papers for all of their good work. Now that I am older, I am extremely excited and ready to become a real teacher with real students!

I am a very creative person. I love creating various types of art. One of my favorite things to create is scrapbooks. I began scrapbooking at an early age. Throughout middle school and high school, I made numerous scrapbooks about friends, family, extracurricular activities, and accomplishments. When I got married to my high school sweetheart in July of 2006, I started a new scrapbook. This scrapbook has many pictures of vacations, anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, and our first new car! I have been working on it for two years now, and there are still many pages I have left to fill.

I also enjoy visiting zoos and aquariums. I have visited the
Jacksonville Zoo many times, and I plan on visiting the Georgia Aquarium really soon. My two favorite things to do at zoos and aquariums are pet the animals and buy at least one souvenir. There are a lot of other things that I enjoy doing, but I would have to say that scrapbooking and visiting zoos and aquariums are my top two picks!
