My name is Lynsey Drew and I am a junior at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. Where the palm trees sway and the learning begins. My major is Early Childhood Education and I am currently enrolled in Early Childhood and Special Education Department.

I am from a small town three hours west of here called Blakely, GA. It is a farming community where high school football is the highlight on Friday nights and a tractor in the road is the only traffic jam. I love to spend time with my friends and family. I also have a deep passion for football, especially my hometown Early County Bobcats, but don't worry I also love to cheer for my VSU Blazers.

When I am not in class or in the library, you can usually find me at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry house here on campus. I serve on the leadership team as the Fellowship Coordinator and am a member of the Dance Team. Within the BCM, I particiapte in Spring Break Missions. The past two years I have been to New Orleans to take part in Hurricane Katrina relief. I have gutted houses, worked in day cares, and even roofed a house.

Besides missions and school, I absolutely love the beach, the pool, the sand, and most of all the SUN!! Everyday during the spring and summer you can find me pool side at my apartment complex in a big pink shell-shaped float  I call Shelly.

While being in the sun, I love to travel and see the world. This  summer my best friend,Allison, and I are going on a Caribbean Cruise for a week and a half. I am so excited; I have never been on a cruise or to the Caribbean.

Being a very visual learner, I think teachers should make the concepts they are teaching very hands on so children can see what they are learning. One website I found useful for this was Kinderart. It provided teachers with many resources on how to make their lessons interactive. In my classroom, I am going to incorporate the learning of knowing how to study. I believe learning how to study at an early age helps children succeed in their whole school career. How to Study showed teachers how to help students learn how to study for each subject individually.
