Introduction
It is important to know what to do if a fire breaks out! How would you react if the fire was in your home or on your clothes. This site was designed to give you tips on how to be safe from roaring fires.




  This is an encyclopedia website to help you learn about fire saftey. An encyclopida contains informational articles on subjects in every field of knowledge.



Have you ever noticed the round white disk on some ceilings? There usually is a loud noise that follows when smoke is near. This website will help you to learn about smoke alarms.



To know if there is a fire on the otherside of a closed door simply tap the door knob to feel its temperature. If the knob is warm or hot do not open it. Learn about emergency escape rules for fire procedures.



What number do you dial in case there is an emergency? Practice dialing 911!



What you should do if your clothes catch on fire?
This web page will show you the procedure to put out flames on your clothing.

Mission Activity
Now that you know all about fire safety it is time for you to pretend that your clothes are on fire. I would like for you to close your eyes and imagine that you are standing at the stove. You reach in the oven to grab the cookies when your sleeve touches the bottom and goes up in flames. I will place a scarf on your sleeve pretending it is the fire. How are you going to react? I want you to act out the steps to putting out the flames. Now go to the web page clothes catch on fire and find out if you did the correct procedure.

Mission Steps
  1. Go to the web page clothes on fire.
  2. I want you to study and learn the procedure of stop, drop and roll.
  3. We will practice this by watching a friend and demonstrating it ourselves.
  4. When it is your turn to act you should stop drop and roll.
  5. Now you will draw and color the three steps. When you have finished tell me the step that are on your paper. I will label them for you.
  6. When you finish bring me your picture.
