Mathematics Dreamworks

Composed by Aaron D. Harwood

Welcome one and all to the math dream works web page!!! This site has been designed to assist the amazingly talented students of Ware County High in their endeavors to achieve high academic standards in the field of mathematics. Ware County is nestled on the fringes of the great Okefenokee Swamp and is home to historic Waycross. This community has been the home to many amazing individuals such as Gram Parsons, Burt Reynolds, Bill Darden, and many others.

Currently I teach mathematics at my alma mater. I was raised in Waycross and I am a third generation educator. When I was a kid my dad brought home all kinds of neat projects that his physics classes worked on. My brother and I had a blast playing with catapults, home made cannons, electromagnets, lasers, and riding hover crafts. As a result of these experiences, it is my opinion that learning should be fun and engaging for all involved. As an adult I still enjoy having fun while learning, although my tastes are more refined. I enjoy coin and currency collecting; numismatics is a really interesting subject with lots of history involved. For more on numismatics and other related fields try the following Wikipedia  Numismatic Link

As of the 2008-2009 school year, I will be instructing several concepts of Problem Solving classes and Geometry. The curricula of these courses is designed to prepare students for the Georgia High School Graduation Test. Concepts of Problem solving will enable students to successfully complete the Graduation test by providing them with an overview of equivalent forms of mathematical expressions, perform computations in standard and expanded notation, interperet graphs, and linear inequalities. Geometry provides students with a general understanding of similar triangles, congruency among shapes, ideas of parallel and perpendicular lines, and points on a plane.
